In the mid-1960s, “circuit bending” was experimented in the United States, namely the modification of musical circuits, children toys, etc., and the short circuit planning as an expressive practice.
New sounds come from deep space but also surprising philosophical and political implications: designed machines, sold and bought to play certain music start instead to dream and suggest chaos! Music and noise suddenly become categories with unstable boundaries. It is a point of no return. Circuit bending is to music as Found footage is to Cinema.

Canecapovolto group formed on a philosophical confraternity model in 1992 at Catania, in 2016 they founded the Scuola FuoriNorma in Catania. Through various experiences that privilege the scientific matrix of communication and above all its response of the viewer, the issues addressed by canecapovolto make constant reference to the social universe, with a particular consideration for the society of the spectacle and the Mass-Man, which strengthens a link with some situationist matrix practices.
The Super 8mm cinema, the videos that experience the “cognitive dissonance”, circuit bending and radio drama, collages on paper... It is among the grey areas amid hearing and vision that canecapovolto founded its identity and its message.
