I-Conic

1986, France, Super 8mm/mini-dv, colour, silent, 3 min. (2 screens)

Miles McKane’s sculptures, 1984-86: ironic simplicity of the acute angle, or how to deal with ambivalence the existing codes - art and nature, matter and form, image and concept. The conical plays the iconic. Some filmic images shot simultaneously by two cameras set on different speeds, provide in double projection something of this instability, which is equally expressed in terms of time, through the succession of the seasons and the changes that accompany it.
